RVN is the result of a vision.  A revelation.  An epiphany.  An encounter with Almighty God that changed the life of one man forever.  That change then began the domino effect that years later became the RVN Band.  Philip D. Derber, once addicted to drugs, alcohol, etc., was aspiring to stardom on the rock stage.  However, when his life began to spiral downward, God cried out to him, saved him, and instantly delivered him from his addictions and a pending divorce.  Giving away all of his guitars, Philip also gave up on his dream of stardom.  But God... had another plan,   "You'll play at my feet and on my stage!"   Over the period of a few years, God began to give Philip lyrics, melodies, songs, guitars, and people, some of which were involved in the "party scene" with him.  As Philip continued to be faithful to God, the RVN Band was born.  Because of the lifestyle that Philip was delivered "from," God powerfully uses him and the RVN Band to minister healing, deliverance and restoration to others in a way that only God can.  Every RVN event is a demonstration of the truth that Jesus is still Lord!

Adam Boggs - Lead Guitar
Adam Boggs knew Philip back in the wild days... B.C. (before Christ).  Although he, earlier in life, lent himself to alcohol abuse, he could not resist the pull and influence of Jesus coming through his old running buddy, Philip.  Upon seeing such a dramatic and consistent change in the life of his old friend, Adam's conscience voice and the voice of the Holy Spirit began to grow louder and louder.  Inevitably, Adam could no longer resist.  Giving in by degrees, Adam first came to church carrying his liquor with him a styro-foam travel cup.  As God persisted, so did Adam until he was completely set free from alcohol addiction.  Being set free, Adam became a vessel cleansed and open to allow God to flow through as he played the guitar.  Yielding to the Holy Spirit, Adam has become an accomplished artist on the lead guitar.

Jeremiah Johnson - Bass
Jeremiah, like most other members of the band, came from a past colored by wrong choices and actions that led him down a path to perversion and destruction, until God miraculously intervened.  By the time Jeremiah was in high school, he had already experienced sexual abuse and rejection to the point that he was driven to alcohol and drug addiction.  But even worse than that, Jeremiah was almost inescapably captured in the grip of religion.  While under the influence, he walked into a neighborhood church and surrendered his life to the Lord, only to be told every week that he was still a "sinner."  Somehow, this didn't seem right to him and eventually sent him tail-spinning back into drugs.  But in spite of his addictions and the spirit of religion, God prevailed and won Jeremiah's heart.  Today, Jeremiah is gloriously free from drugs and alcohol and from the grip of religion having learned that through Christ, old things are passed away, and all things are become new.

Ed Taylor - Background Vocals, Keyboards
Ed started out on the fast track to success.  A natural athlete, he pursued greatness on the basketball court and shunned the perils of alcohol.  However, by the time he reached college, realizing that his athletic career would eventually end, Ed began to open up to the pressures of temptation.  Ed fell into alcohol abuse, sexual exploits and one of the more "secret" sins.  Many people who are held captive by these vices never talk to anyone about them.  But God, using the life of someone whom He's delivered, ministers powerfully to the hearts of those who are held in bondage, and brings glorious freedom to them through these testimonies of deliverance.

Eric Lemon - Drums
From making up songs with his brothers and friends around the neighborhood growing up to later writing and performing rap / hip-hop songs, Eric brings a whole new edge to the RVN Band.  Choosing to follow a divine plan, rather than a path of destruction like so many artists of today do, the music of heaven finally found its home in Eric's heart.  Eric now allows the heartbeat of heaven to flow through him in the drum and percussion rhythms of the RVN Band.

Cecily McCulloch - Background vocals / vocals
Although Cecily was born and raised in a Christian home, she began to fall away from God during her teens and early twenties.  Her descent away from the things of God led her to a life riddled with drugs, alcohol and promiscuity until bulimia and severe depression nearly wrecked her marriage and  left her feeling suicidal.  Upon reaching what she felt was the end of her rope, she again cried out to God who quickly restored her to physical, mental as well as spiritual health, putting her life and marriage back together again.  Today, Cecily is being powerfully used as a voice of healing and restoration both through the ministry of the RVN Band and in other areas of ministry.

Alvin Harris - Acoustic guitar
Alvin has a powerful testimony of both healing and deliverance.  Not only did God raise him up out of drug and alcohol addiction, but Alvin was miraculously saved and healed off of his death-bed.  The fluid had drained off of his brain leaving him bed-ridden and the doctor's had all but given up on him.  But today, Alvin is alive and well and playing acoustic guitar with the RVN Band for the glory of God.
