Let not your heart be troubled

by Cecelia Campbell

Let not your heart be troubled, ye believe in God believe also in me (St. John 14:1)

In today's world there are a lot of things that will leave you troubled. It is not easy remaining calm under these pressuring circumstances. But believe it or not, friends, it can be done. Jesus would not have given the command if He knew it was impossible.

Today, as you read this article, you have two choices and I pray you will make the correct decision for your peace of mind. You can either follow my simple instructions and enjoy some peace of mind or you can scoff and keep sending your blood pressure up the choice is yours!

I love the Bible

Map for living an untroubled life

1. Cast all your cares on Him. In 1 Peter 5:7 you are encouraged to "cast all your cares upon Him for He cares for you." It makes no sense worrying about what you cannot change. But we do have a friend who, when we pray, He listens and works out what is always best for us.

2. I sought the Lord and he heard me and delivered me from all my fears Psalm 34:4. First you have to acknowledge that you are like every other human being filled with worries and fears. But the thing is not to let this fear cripple you, just know that there is a Deliverer from all of your fears and put it to Him. He will take you through and let you see your fear for what it really was False Evidence Appearing Real.

3. The righteous cry out and the Lord hears and delivers them out of all their troubles Psalm 34:17. Isn't it reassuring to know that there is no trouble that can face you that the Lord is not in total control of? The key though is ensuring that you cry out for help. No sense being in trouble and not alerting someone to your plight. In the same breath, if you cry out to God He will hear and come to your rescue. Please note though that His method of rescue may not be exactly what you had in mind but ultimately it will all work out for your good.

4. For I am persuaded that neither death nor life, nor angels nor principalities nor powers, nor things present nor things to come shall be able to separate us from the love of God which is in Christ Jesus our Lord Romans 8 v 38-39. If this doesn't reassure you then nothing else will. There is a great comfort to know that there is nothing on the face of this planet that can come between you and the God of the universe that loves you a lot. With a promise like this surely we can rest assured knowing that not one iota of our troubles can escape His attention.

Of course, time and space are insufficient to give you all the assuring verses that are in the bible but why don't you start reading and discovering the many treasures that are there for you. Let troubles, worries and stress be a thing of the past. Read the word of God, believe it and you will be saying, "I'm too blessed to be stressed!"
