JESUS (5 of 8) AT JERUSALEM
Jesus owned nothing. Borrowed a donkey, a boat, food for a miracle and for sleep He borrowed a bed.
The irony is soon He will borrow a grave, for even in death, He had no place to lay His head.
A King without possessions, not even a donkey registered in His name.
This is our Savior, and Son of God, who healed the sick and cured the lame.
He entered Jerusalem without pomp and ceremony. A more unkingly sight may never again be found.
Yet cloaks and shawls for His red carpet were generously spread upon the ground.
Miracles Jesus performed originated in Heaven. Kindly acts so good, warm and sweet.
The people reach out like young children reaching for a rare and treasured treat.
This Passover is going to be entirely different. On a colt instead of a chariot Jesus arrives for Himself to reveal.
“Blessed is the King who comes in the name of God” was yelled by many folks who kneel.
The Pharisees are unhappy with the attention paid this religious renegade.
It will disrupt the Passover ceremonies. Elsewhere they wish Jesus had stayed.
Jesus knows the glory He received outside the gates will change to curses from the city within.
Jesus weeps for the city and what is to be and through it all He prays for those who sin.
