The Truth Is
by David Edgin

The truth is there's more that I could know,
A far better testimony I could show,
The truth is there's more that I could pray,
More I could do for You each day.

The truth is I don't try like I should,
And You know I don't cry like I would,
If I truly wanted to see
The lost and dying around me.

The truth is sometimes I'm content,
To keep my sin, not repent.
The truth is I don't really know,
Why You would Love me so.

But the truth is the Love You give,
Isn't given because I live,
A perfect life day to day,
Or always do things the right way.

The truth is Your life You gave
My wretched soul to save,
The truth is Your Love for me
You give unconditionally.

The truth is Love never ends
All human weakness transcends
But You always knew this
For You always Loved me-the truth is.
